Hi, I'm Shannon Palermo

I’m an Atlanta-based grant writer, fundraiser, and longtime grassroots organizer. For over a decade, I’ve helped organizations secure funding between 4-750k for art projects, public parks, early childhood education, K-12 youth programming, mutual aid networks, abortion funds, food justice, bail funds, art projects, and more. My experience spans (c)(3) and (c)(4) contexts with budgets just under 250k to over $3 million and I’ve worked with organizations across the U.S. I’ve also developed tiered business membership programs, fundraising campaigns, newsletter and social media content, website copy, and impact reporting. I shifted my focus to exclusively supporting the work of intersectional and Justice-rooted organizations in 2025, because I’m most effective in these spaces, this work aligns with my values, and I have a sense of urgency.

In my work, I aim to:

  • Advance Racial Justice and intersectional movements for liberation
  • Dismantle gatekeeping in the nonprofit industrial complex
  • Shift power and resources to those most impacted by systemic oppression
  • Fund mutual aid and anti-capitalist models of community care

My academic background is in science and I got my start in the nonprofit world as a tutor for fellow first-gen grads. Before and since then, I’ve worn many hats including waitress, bartender, performance artist, camp counselor, program coordinator, development associate, executive director. These experiences, compounded by an influential punk-rock ethos, have shaped my Justice-rooted approach to fundraising.

My goal is to uplift your work with empathy, strategy, and realism.
